“Archer wines have a simple goal: to express the land and inspire life.”
Jim has been making wine in the Willamette Valley since 1996, when he first explored the craft while working with Mike Etzel at Beaux Frères. Those formative years positioned him to take the helm at several wineries around the Willamette Valley, including ongoing work with our friends at Le Cadeau and Aubichon Cellars.
At Archer Vineyard, Jim focuses on small-lot, handcrafted wines that merge the creative instincts of an artist with the analytic skills of a scholar—with the goal of creating wines of the highest quality, marked by precision and grace. He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and occasionally moonlights as a professor in Portland. His gift to us is our gift to you.
